Just Add Ink Challenge No 61 - Just add stamps

This week I decided to play the Just Add Ink Challenge which is simply using only stamps and cardstock.  A little bit of a challenge for me, because I very seldom put together a card that has either no ribbon or embellishments of some sort on it.  I think ribbon always gives a card a slightly feminine feel to it.  So having said that, I chose to do a masculine card.  Here is my card I hope you like it.

The Card recipe:
Cardstock:  Stampin Up Very Vanilla, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake (formerly Kraft).
Stamps:  Stampin Up Sanded, Lovely As A Tree and On Your Birthday.
Ink:  Stampin Up Whisper Write craft ink, and Early Espresso
Accessories:  Stampin Up dimensions, Modern Label Extra Large paper punch & Curly Label Extra Large paper punch.

Mojo Monday Challenge No. 180

Had so much fun with this sketch.  Its quite simple but very effective.  The sketch is this weeks Mojo Monday challenge and the colours come from the Split Coast Stampers Colour challenge No. CC312  Made up of Stampin Up's colours of Marina Mist, Certainly Celery and Rose Red.

Here is the sketch

And here is my card, as you can see I chose to do the square version.

The main image is heat embossed which makes it a lot easier to colour in with markers.  No running of colours, plus it gives the image a shinier look.  Sometimes when using a dark embossing powder, some powder gets left behind on the card and can melt onto the card and spoil the image.  I used Stampin Up's Embossing buddy which is an anti-static powder.  This really helps get a clean image.

This is the first time I have combined two challenges, I am a little out of my comfort zone here as I don't often use anymore than the two main colours plus a neutral.

Card recipe is:

Cardstock:  Marina Mist, Certainly Celery and Rose Red, plus Certainly Celery DP all from Stampin Up
Ink:  Stampin Up Basic Black & Versa Mark, plus Marina Mist, Certainly Celery and Rose Red Stampin Up Markers.
Stamps:  Stampin Up Blooming with Happiness and Warmest Regards.
Extras:  Stampin Up black embossing powder, heat gun, Embossing buddy,  Marina Mist satin ribbon, glue dots, dimensions, crystal effects all from stampin up, plus embossing folder, die and stick on half silver pearls from another supplier.
Technique Used:  Heat embossing & dry embossing.
